Thank you to DP Design for trusting us to participate in the installation, Ruffled Ice, now on display at Singapore iLight 2022. As Asia’s leading sustainable lights festival, installations are designed follow a sustainability theme to urge the general public to adopt environmentally friendly lifestyle habits. Ruffled Ice turns ordinary plastic waste into a visualisation of melting icebergs, drawing attention to the excessive use of packaging in our everyday lives.

Turning sustainability words into sustainability action
As part of our sustainability strategy, LKHPD is proud to be a part of i Light Singapore, Asia’s leading sustainable light festival held in Marina Bay.
This year, in collaboration with
Ruffled Ice draws attention to the excessive use of plastic packaging in our everyday lives. Today, many retail products are often unnecessarily wrapped in decorative plastic packaging to enhance their appeal and perceived value to consumers, creating more waste in the process. When such plastics are inappropriately disposed of, they are carried to the seas by the winds and waterways.
Ruffled Ice turns trash into visualisations of melting icebergs and ice caverns by using plastic waste collected from several organisations, including a plastic recycling company. Sculpted from redundant packaging materials, the installation highlights the enormous damage discarded plastics have on our environment.
This installation is in collaboration with Sunray Woodcraft Construction, Plaspulp Union Pte Ltd, LKH Projects Distribution Pte Ltd (under Lim Kim Hai Electric Group), and EPM Consultants Pte Ltd.
